The winter this year has been far from average. With January temperatures in the mid 50’s we were able to get a jump start on some of our winter pruning. The vines pulled through some of the earlier frost we encountered in the fall growing season.
The winery is still in full swing. We are still cold stabilizing certain vatieties, getting a grip on what we want to do for filitering, and also getting ready to barrel our 2011 reds.
We are still closed untill May 1st, but if anyone would like to stop and pick up wine, or schedual a private event, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you again for all of your support, and we hope to see everyone this spring!
Hi again everyone. Our 2011 season has almost come to a close. We would like to thank everyone for another great year. Starting January first we will be open by appointment only. We will open again on weekends may first.
Today in the winery we are racking our 2010 reserve reds. The Marquette has a nice suttle spice and dark fruit aroma, and the Frontenac is starting to get a rich chocolate/coffe note. We have started looking for a bigger press for next season. So far, only a few leads. We would like to find a nice used willmes press.
We will be open Saturday’s through new years. Any other times can be made by appointment. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment.
Warm temperatures have finally arrived. We have been very busy in the vineyard this year. With the ample rainfall and high temps, the grapevines have been growing quite rapidly. The most time consuming work in the vineyard is tucking the vines into the trellising system. We have been working on this for the past couple weeks.
The wine and dine for this month is on the 14th. The theme will be Cuban night. Please call for reservations!!
Thanks again, and we hope to see you soon.
